Solution Focused Hypnotherapist
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy combined with hypnotherapy (trance). The focus is on finding solutions to move on in life rather than reliving the the past.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines psychotherapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful. We go into trance several times per day, from walking the dog, to walking home from the pub (normally we say we go into autopilot). Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help you make significant and positive changes in your live in a relatively short period of time. I look at what you want to achieve (your goal/solution) rather than the cause of the problem.
After session one (Free Initial Consultation), all following sessions are structured, incorporating Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) along with revision about the brain and why we respond the way you do to certain triggers (eg crying if stressed). This is combined with trance work (hypnosis). Solution Focused Hypnotherapy does not require the therapist to ‘dig into’ a person’s past, as this is not deemed necessary to help you formulate plans and best hopes for how you want to move forward in your life. Once you have the knowledge on how the brain works, your thought patterns will change and this will change your whole perspective on life.
